Advocates, law makers, and regulators are working to improving consumer protections in order to stop abuses in car sales and finance and bring fairness and transparency to the marketplace. Current and proposed changes will not only improve the ability of car buyers to get a fair deal, but correct the incentives in car loans and sales to allow car dealers and lenders to compete at providing a good product for a fair price- putting working families into cars and loans that will serve them well for years rather than putting them in cars and loans with known defects.
